Goodbye from Teenagestorm.

I’ve moved to Blogger, with a new name, and new style of writing. Its still beauty/make up, but I feel the quality of this blog was getting awful, and I needed a fresh start with a clean page. Its a bit more mature, because I feel I know a lot more about make up, and these posts are a lot better. There will be regular posts on outfits of the day, make up reviews, get the look hauls, tutorials, tags the whole lot!

Please take a look at it, its new so I haven’t got any followers yet, and would really like some comments/feedback.¬†Click here to see it, I hope you like it ūüôā Goodbye x

My Beauty Challenge – THE CONCLUSION!

** To view the related post ‘My Beauty Challenge’¬†click here¬†**

Ok so it’s been a few weeks since I set my challenge. I promised to cut back on sugar/sugary foods, stop using facial scrubs/cleansers/anything that would irritate my skin, drink a lot more water, and increase the amount of fruit and veg I eat.

I could tell you that the whole thing was a breeze, and that two days in I was blemish free and will never need to touch a spot treatment cream again. I could tell you that sticking to the rules was easy, and I am now 98% water and spinach. But then I’d be lying.

Not using a facial scrub/cleanser went against everything I’ve learnt about my skin over the last five years, so within a few days I was back to my Clearsil facial scrub and Body Shop Seaweed cleanser. I didn’t then break out, so I don’t think that facial cleansers were the problem, although I have limited the facial scrubs I use, because that can definitely irritate skin.

I’ve never done anything like this before, so sticking to the food diet was really tricky. I admit, I didn’t enjoy eating a carrot instead of the occasional chocy biscuit, but I did feel healthier so thats a win ūüôā

However – I have found what I can only describe as the miracle diet. In the space of two days, the majority of spots had cleared, and my whole body felt healthier. It’s… The Detox diet! Let me explain:

I don’t bother with diets because I’m not particularly fat and I.. well I’m lazy when it comes to health. But recently I’ve had a problem with my stomach which meant that I was producing too much hydrochloric stomach acid and it was irritating my stomach lining – VERY painful. So when I came across the detox diet, it sounded perfect. It means only eating foods high in antitoxins for a short two day period. Antitoxins are what help the ‘flush out’ the impurities in your body, which helps the kidney. Many people claimed it helped with similar stomach problems so I decided to give it a go.

It was very strict Рa diet of antitoxins? Thats basically fruit, veg and  A LOT of herbal tea. there are health sites which can explain this 986520x better than me, and have easy meal plans you can follow, but you get the gist.

By the end of the two day period (Its very important it is for a short amount of time – This diet doesn’t include carbohydrates or protein so that your stomach doesn’t digest anything heavy. So its not balanced for a full time diet!) my skin had cleared up dramatically! I was drinking lots of the Herbal Tea ‘Pukka’ in ‘Cleanse’. This was said to have an effect on cleaning skin and tasted like fennel and marshmallow. I really think this had an effect on my skin so I’m definitely purchasing it again.

Overall I think the challenge has been a success! I’ve found a healthy short term diet that can clear my skin, whilst being healthier too. ūüėÄ

Here Comes The Sun

With summer fast approaching, its best to stock up on all things hot to set the trend! Here are a few must haves trends wich will kick off this summer!

The sunglasses!

With festival fever only a flower away, sunglasses are essential. Getting the right sunglasses can be tricky. Large lens glasses may make your face smaller and your face more bug faced. Small glasses can make your nose look longer and your eyes to unproportioned. Luckily, the current trend (Above) will suit almost any face shape.

With thick frames and a blocked bridge, they give off the perfect festival feel. Primark will be releasing a cheap range of floral glasses, and Accessorize have been selling quality floral sunnys for £16.

Nails!

I’m stupid enough to just purchase some wintery shades, so make sure your stocking up on next seasons colour¬† – Candy Colours!
With shades like Mint Blue and Carousel Purple, they just feel like they sweeten up summer days. Revlon do purple shade for ¬£6.49, or opt for something cheaper like Barry M’s Mint Ice Cream nail paint for just ¬£2.99.

Make Up!

Yes, that right its time to get the bronzer out! With bronzers suddenly becoming girls best friend, its only fair that I post it in somewhere! When using bronzer make sure to lightly brush over the apples of yours cheeks and the bridge of your nose, giving yourself a healthy glow. Dont over do it though, looking like the cross between a wotsit and Edward Cullen is so unattractive and is 100% a pet hate.

My personal Favourite bronzer is by E.L.F, and costs only £2. Other popular bronzers include 17 Instant glow Bronzing Rocks, £4.99.

All Hail To Queen Shamballa!

Want the latest bracelet craze? Shamballa’s¬†seem to be sweeping the nation, enticing¬†buyers with their sparkly beads and eye-catching colours.¬†They’re also very popular amongst celebrities, with the likes of¬†Ameila Lily, Matt Smith and Justin Bieber¬†all sporting the look, its only natural to want one or¬†two. Or five.

The original platinum Shamballa braclet is VERY expensive, (I’ve seen some for ¬£700) but luckly allloy ones have been produced,¬† and they’re only a fiver! There are loads of tantalising colours (above) but the most popular one in london is¬†the light blue beaded one. You can also choose them by style.¬†There’s the coloured sparkly ones,¬†but also heavier black metal balls to add as well. Personally I prefer the glitter of the sparkly beads, but they are a little more expensive.¬†(Roughly ¬£2.59 for the one sparkly bead, ¬£4 for the full bracelet.)

I got mine from a Ebay seller here. They shipped it quickly, I literaly got mine the next day :).

Dry Shampoo Anyone?

This morning I had peel myself from my bed with (Shock horror) greasy hair! I had no time to rush into the shower but, in the back of a draw was a can of Batiste Dry shampoo.¬†I’ve got Clean & Classic, which was great. When I sprayed it into my roots, my hair looked white and ghost-like (freakout)! But as soon as you scruff up your hair and brush it back out, no one will know you faked that soft I-just-Came-Out-The-Shower look. Theres loads of different dry shampoos, Lee stafford is also quite good (if not a little bit pricey).

Heres all the Dry Shampoo’s avaliable from Batiste, ¬£2.99 : Cherry, Spicy & Sentual, Wild, Clean & Classic, Coconut & Exotic Tropical, Dark & Deep Brown, Big & Bouncy XXL Volume, Light & Blonde and Floral & Flirty.

Pros:

  • Great for a bad hair day
  • Relitively cheap
  • Smells good
  • works well

Cons

  • Will only work for roughly 24 hours
  • Unless you brush it out, you may have a weird white mist over your hair
  • Not as good for your hair as the traditional shower
  • Coloured dry shampoos may look uneven

Magnetic Nail Varnish

Get your bottle of Magnetic Nail Varnish while stocks last! I love this wacky nail varnish. You put a coat of the¬†Nail Varinsh on, and on the second coat, put the magnet over your nails and you will get a fab 3D pattern! My favourite is the frankie’s silver shade from the saturdays collection. They’re ¬£6.00 a bottle, and the magnets are 3 pounds, and are definately worth having in the long run.
